The Banda Sea, located in the heart of Indonesia, is a diver’s paradise. In October 2022, I had the incredible opportunity to explore this marine haven onboard the Velocean liveaboard. This journey not only left me with unforgettable memories but also inspired the creation of our latest design at Moonbow.

The trip started with a sense of excitement and anticipation. As we sailed across the azure waters, the beauty of the Banda Sea began to unfold. The crystal-clear water, coupled with the vibrant marine life, made every dive an extraordinary experience.

Highlights of the Trip:

• Hammerhead Sharks: One of the most thrilling moments was encountering hammerhead sharks. Their majestic presence and graceful movements left a lasting impression on me. These encounters were a testament to the untouched beauty of the Banda Sea.

• Mandarin Fish Mating: Witnessing the delicate dance of mandarin fish during their mating ritual was a unique spectacle. The vivid colors and intricate patterns of these tiny creatures were mesmerizing.

• Vibrant Sea Slugs: The Banda Sea is home to an array of vibrant sea slugs. Each dive revealed new, brightly colored nudibranchs, adding a splash of color to the underwater landscape.

• Underwater Landscape: The underwater topography of the Banda Sea is diverse and captivating. From steep drop-offs to expansive coral gardens, every dive site offered something new and exciting.

• Sea Snakes at Manuk Island: Manuk Island was another highlight, where sea snakes were a common sight. Observing these serpentine creatures gliding gracefully through the water was both fascinating and eerie.

• Rainbows and Dolphins: Above water, nature continued to amaze with rainbows arching across the sky and playful dolphins accompanying our boat. These moments added a touch of magic to the entire trip.
